NEW BATCH OF LAGOS RETIREES GET N684M
The Governor of Lagos State, Mr. Akinwunmi Ambode has approved the sum of N684m for payment of accrued pension rights to 218 retirees from the Mainstream Civil Service, Local Governments, State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB), Teachers Establishments and Pensions Office (TEPO) and other Parastatals under the Contributory Pension Scheme for the month of June.
Addressing the retirees at the 40th Retirement Benefit Bond Certificate Presentation, the Director-General – Lagos State Pensions Commission (LASPEC), Mrs. Folashade Onanuga, said that the Commission ensured that retirees receive their pensions promptly due to their immense contributions to the development of Lagos State.
She implored the beneficiaries to “maintain a low profile, eat healthily and exercise well as this is what your body needs.”
The retirees were also urged to invest their funds wisely in income-yielding ventures and ensure prudent spending of their resources.
The beneficiaries thanked the Lagos State Government for ensuring prompt payment of their entitlements and promised to maintain healthy habits and a low profile as advised by the Director-General.
