LAGOS PERM SEC COUNSELS STAFF ON WORK ETHICS, PRODUCTIVITY
The Staff of the Local Government Service Commission has been urged to shun bribery, change negative attitudes, be of good conduct and improve productivity while performing their duties.
The Permanent Secretary of the Commission, Mrs. Omobolanle Ogunmola, said this while declaring open a Two-Day Workshop titled: “Work Ethics and Attitudinal Formation for Productivity” organized for Staff and held at the Local Government Training School, Old Secretariat, Ikeja.
Ogunmola said that the Staff should ensure that they abide with the ethics of their profession, discharge their duties diligently, do what is expected of them without fear or favour and without demanding for any form of gratification.
She advised them to desist from bad attitudinal behaviours such as failure to keep records, sleeping on duty, dereliction of duty, negligence, lateness to work and unruly behaviour which contravene the Lagos State Public Service Rules.
Ogunmola, who commended the State Government for sponsoring the training, implored the participants to be exemplary and role models in their performance, adding that one day, their efforts and commitment would be recognized not only by human beings but also by God.
She urged them to be attentive, participate in the deliberations and also ensure that they put into practice what they would be taught.
The Permanent Secretary cautioned the Officers to guide their jobs jealously by remaining committed especially in this recession where there are many unemployed Nigerians who are still looking for employment.
