LAGOS INTERNATIONAL TAEKWONDO CLASSICS KICKS OFF NOV. 23

The 4th Edition of Lagos International Taekwondo Classics kicks off on Thursday 23rd November 2017 at the Molade Okoya-Thomas Indoor Hall of Teslim Balogun Stadium, Surulere Lagos.

The event, being organised by the Lagos State Government, is part of efforts to expose the athletes from the State to international competitions as well as create a platform for Nigerian Taekwondo contestants to compete with their counterparts around the world.

Lagos State will be represented by 26 athletes who will vie for trophies in the male and female categories alongside contestants from other parts of the country and abroad. Amongst the Lagos team are star athletes Ibrahim Idrees and Esther Uzoukwu.

The five-day event will witness participants from Seychelles, Niger, Ghana, Mali, France, South Korea, India and Nigeria.

In a related development, a seminar would be conducted by the visiting International Referees to retrain officials on the new World Taekwondo Federation rules.
