GOV. AMBODE REITERATES COMMITMENT TO SECURITY OF LIVES, PROPERTY

The Lagos State Governor, Mr. Akinwunmi Ambode has again reiterated his administration’s commitment to the safety of lives and property of Lagosians, assuring that security will not be compromised in any part of the State.
Speaking at the commissioning of Iworo Police Divisional Headquarters in Iworo Community Iworo-Epe Road, Olorunda Local Council Development Area, the Governor represented by the Commissioner for Special Duties And Intergovernmental Relations, Mr. Oluseye Oladejo said the present administration has been able to harmonise the provision of security within the rural and urban areas, especially with the active participation and support of the people in the communities who provide timely information to the relevant security agencies operating the State.
On the Police Post being commissioned, the Governor commended the community for inspiring the project which is a demonstration of the appreciation of the people, who are according to him “The ultimate beneficiaries of our efforts which is aimed at ensuring the safety of lives and property”.
Governor Ambode further appealed to members of the Community to encourage and support the security personnel that will be posted to man the Police Division. He urged them to see the officers as their friends and cooperate with them so that they can achieve their mandate of ensuring safety and security in the area.
In his address, His Royal Highness, Oba (Dr.) Oladele Idris Friday Kosoko (JP), Oniworo of Iworo Kingdom appreciated Governor Akinwunmi Ambode for coming to their aide by safeguarding their community with the establishment of the Post, assuring the government of their continued support and cooperation.
The Chairman of Olorunda Local Council Development Area, Mr. Samson Folorunsho Olatunde thanked the State Government for the provision of the Post, stressing that the Police Post will be put to good use.
The occasion was witnessed by traditional chiefs in the community, top Politicians in the area and Senior Officers in the Lagos State Police Command.
