WORLD FACILITY MANAGEMENT DAY:LAGOS CALLS FOR PARTNERSHIPS TO IMPROVE SERVICE DELIVERY

The Lagos State Government has called for a partnership with members of International Facility Management Association to ensure cost-effective and proper management of public assets for better service delivery to Lagos residents.

The General Manager of the Lagos State Infrastructure Assets Management Agency, Mr. Oladeji Williams, while speaking during the World Facility Management Day inspection tour of public infrastructure managed by facility managers across the State, emphasised the important role Facility Managers play in the health, safety, productivity and well-being of people who utilize the built environment.

He said that “although the Facility management as a profession in Nigeria is still at an infancy stage, it has contributed so much to the built industry within the few years of its existence”.

Williams observed that facility managers deliver exceptional customer experiences worldwide across multiple sectors and World Facility Management Day was a significant time to reflect on the ways to enhance the performance of facility managers.

The General Manager thereafter presentedthe ‘Maintenance Culture Award for 2017” to Avatar Global Resources Limited at the Anatomy Hall of the Lagos State College of Medicine (LASUCOM), in recognition of the company’s meritorious service excellence.

He expressed appreciation to Governor Akinwunmi Ambode, for deliberately investing huge resources to develop enduring public assets and infrastructure that would guarantee economic prosperity and serve as a legacy for future generations.

World Facility Management Day is an annual event when Facility Management professionals all over the world take a moment to reflect on their past achievements and spotlight outstanding members of their profession.
