“EMBRACE DIGITAL COMMUNICATION TECHNOLOGY” – BAMIGBETAN
Lagos State Commissioner for Information & Strategy, Mr. Kehinde Bamigbetan has charged Public Affairs Officers in State employ to embrace Digital Communication Technology to deepen their information management process.
Bamigbetan made the call during a training session organised in conjunction with the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations, Lagos State Chapter for public affairs officers as part of activities marking the NIPR week.
The Commissioner who was represented by the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry, Mrs. Kofoworola Awobamise said the need for the training emanated from the fact that Public Affairs Officers must keep abreast of the emerging global trends in Communication, adding that digital communication has become the fastest mode of interaction in the media industry.
Bamigbetan implored participants to take advantage of the training programme to improve their skills and performance while embracing every opportunity for capacity-building towards improved quality service delivery.
The one-day lecture and training featured topics presented by professional public relations practitioners. The subjects of the presentations included – The Changing Face of PR by John Ehiguese; Issues Management Stakeholders: Mapping for Effective Results by George Eke; NIPR in Lagos Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow by Abraham Oyebanji; and Reputation Management by Mojisola Saka.
