PSSDC TO COLLABORATE WITH PERSONNEL PRACTITIONERS ON LEARNING, DEVELOPMENT

The Lagos State Public Service Staff Development Centre (PSSDC) is set to collaborate with the Personnel Practitioners Consultative Association – PPCA – (Ikeja Chapter of the Chartered Institute of Personnel Management) on Learning and Development.

The Director-General PSSDC, Mr. Senukon Ajose-Harrison disclosed this while welcoming a PPCA delegation led by its Chairman, Mr. Amao Olakanmi Onidundu on a familiarisation and appreciation visit to PSSDC for its continued support over the years in conducting Chartered Institute of Personnel Management examinations.

Ajose-Harrison noted that the areas of collaboration with PPCA include emphasis on entrepreneurship to help those in secondary schools (catch them young), training of new entrants into the Public Service, middle level officers and those about to retire, adding that the Centre intends to ensure that success is achieved on the collaboration by involving the relevant Ministries, Departments, and Agencies of the State government.

According to him, “Success can only be achieved by two or more organisations if they connect together to a shared vision, unleash potentials, share progressive ideas to impart on humanities and to share viable information to cement their relationship. Collaboration widens horizons of organisations and mindset of the workforce for wealth multiplication”.

While noting that collaboration enables an organisation to acquire more knowledge from others for the desired result, he recommended that the collaboration could start with conferences and seminars through well-groomed sponsors on mindset issue and financial literacy.

The DG, therefore, advocated for the setting up of a committee to work on modalities and guidelines for the eventual takeoff of the partnership.

In his response, the Chairman of the Personnel Practitioners Consultative Association (Ikeja Chapter) Mr. Amao Olakanmi Onidundu expressed his gratitude to PSSDC for the sustained relationship over time.He expressed confidence that the impending collaboration would bring about cross-pollination of ideas, wealth creation and multiplication as well as greater synergy between the Chartered Institute of Personnel Management and PSSDC, stressing that it would be a ‘win-win’ situation for both institutions.
