PSSDC SET TO COLLABORATE WITH EDUCATION SECRETARIES IN LEARNING AND DEVELOPMENT
The
Public Service Staff Development Centre (PSSDC), Magodo, is set to
collaborate with the Lagos Conference of Education Secretaries by
organising developmental programmes for their staff.
Director-General of PSSDC, Mr.
Senukon Ajose-Harrison disclosed this during the courtesy visit of
members of the Conference of Education Secretaries, noting that their
visit signifies readiness to collaborate on capacity building, learning
and development.
While explaining that the Centre had organised programmes for Head Teachers in the past, he reiterated that the new collaboration would further cement the existing relationship between the education sector and the Centre.
According to him, “We have had training collaboration with the State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB) on the training and retraining of Primary School Teachers. As such, the Centre would organise 21st-century management course for Education Secretaries”.
He promised that the Centre, in preparing 2019 Learning and Development Brochure, will consider the relevant training needs of staff to sharpen their skills, adding that PSSDC as a training institution established by the State Government to train and retrain public servants has the capacity to train all cadres of staff including the teachers.
Earlier, members of the Lagos Conference of Education Secretaries led by its Chairman, Mr. Olalekan Majiyagbe said the visit to the Centre was to seek collaboration in training and retraining for Teachers in Primary Schools.
He mentioned that he had benefited from training in PSSDC in the past and he is fully aware of the rich content of the Centre’s programmes, explaining that the core functions of the Centre tally with human resources training needs of the LGEA for Education Secretaries.
