LAGOS CJ ADMONISHES STAFF TO LOOK AHEAD WITH HIGH EXPECTATIONS

As the year 2018 is going to a glorious end, the Lagos State Chief Judge, Hon. Justice Opeyemi Oke has admonished members of staff of the Lagos State Judiciary to look ahead with high expectations and a strong resolve to do more in the New Year, just as she reeled out her administration’s achievement for the outgoing year.

Justice Oke, who gave this admonition during the State Judiciary Christmas Carol Service held recently at the premises of the State High Court in Ikeja, noted that the year 2018 kicked off with high expectations embedded in her Vision and Mission Statements and most of the aspirations have been achieved.

In her words, “Very guardedly, we have been running with our vision and our steadfastness has birthed laudable achievements to the glory of God and the advancement of the Lagos State Judiciary”.

She said some of her administration’s achievements include, the installation and commissioning of the Vision, Mission and Commitment signposts of the Lagos State Judiciary in all Court premises.

The Chief Judge also spoke about her fight against corruption in Lagos State Judiciary, affirming that disciplinary actions were taken against erring staff of the Sheriff Department, Probate Registry, Cash Office and Administrative staff.

According to her, other achievements include setting up of a Hospitality Unit for staff welfare, the creation of two new divisions of the High Court – Economic/Financial Crime division as well as Sexual Offences and Domestic Violence division among others.

She expressed her profound gratitude to the Lagos State Governor, Mr. Akinwunmi Ambode, and the State Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice, Mr. Adeniji Kazeem for their unwavering support for the Judiciary, stressing that without their assistance the achievements may not have been possible.
