LAGOS TRAFFIC RADIO ENDS 22-DAY “DONT DRINK AND DRIVE”ROADSHOW

The second edition of the “Don’t Drink and Drive” Road Show embarked upon by the Lagos Traffic Radio 96.1FM came to an end on Friday, December 14, 2018, after 22 days of extensivecampaigns across major Motor Parks in the State.

 

The closing ceremony for the campaign which held at the Ojota New Garage Motor Park ended amidst commendation by relevant stakeholders in the transport sector.

 

The Deputy Chairman, National Union of Road Transport Workers, (NURTW) Ojota Branch, Comrade Babatope Olowokere, who received the “Don’t Drink and Drive” campaign team from Lagos Traffic Radio on behalf of other executives of NURTW said that the Union was also exploring several ways to complement the efforts of the broadcast station in sensitising motorists towards safe driving.

 

He emphasised that erring drivers who do not comply with stipulated rules and regulations aimed at maintaining sanity on Lagos roads would be punished accordingly.

 

The Deputy Chairman, on behalf of his executives, thanked the Lagos State Government and the management team of Lagos Traffic Radio for the initiative, just as he pleaded that the campaign should be sustained and made a routine event.

 

Responding on behalf of Management of Lagos Traffic Radio and the “Don’t Drink and Drive” team, the Head of Marketing, Mr. Dare Durosinmi thanked the Executive Members of NURTW, Ojota branch for hosting theroadshow team and for supporting the idea from the first day when the campaign kicked-off up to the closing ceremony at the motor park.

 

The annual road show, which was taken to major parks in Lagos State, is an initiative of Lagos Traffic Radio, supported by Lagos State Drivers’ Institute (LASDRI), Lagos State Safety Commission, LASTMA, and FRSC amongst others.
