SANWO-OLU CHARGES CHRISTIAN PILGRIMS TO BE GOOD AMBASSADORS

The Governor of Lagos State, Mr. Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu has charged Christian pilgrims to be good ambassadors of the State during their stay at the Holy Land inIsrael by exhibiting high standards and sterling character.

Sanwo-Olu, who gave the charge on Wednesday in his address at the Prayer Session and Seminar organised to round up months of preparations for the Easter pilgrimage toJerusalem, enjoined the Pilgrims to show humility, humaneness, empathy, dignity, dedication and sincere spirituality during and after the performance of the exercise.

The Governor, represented at the event by the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Home Affairs, Mrs. Elizabeth Adebunmi Adekanye, urged the intending pilgrims to begin their process of spiritual rejuvenation and growth, along with prayers and supplications immediately before the departure to Isreal.

While imploring pilgrims to pray for sustenance of peace and growth of Lagos State, the Nation, themselves, families, communities and Christendom, he cautioned them not to do any untoward things that may bring disrepute to the State and country at large.

In his sermon, the officiating Minister, Very Rev Ayo Olu Oyadotun advised the intending pilgrims to keep themselves away from habits and people that would diminish their spirituality.

He said they must do away with such behaviours as drunkenness and anger so that they “can be able to assume the higher plane of spirituality which is the main purpose of their pilgrimage”.
