LAGOS STATE PILGRIMS RECEIVE COMMENDATION FOR GOOD CONDUCT IN ROME & JERUSALEM
The 2016 pilgrims from Lagos State on Holy Pilgrimage to Rome & Jerusalem have been commended for their exemplary conduct and good behaviour since the commencement of the pilgrimage exercise last week.
The Head of the Nigerian Community in Rome, Mr. George Princewill applauded the comportment and discipline of the entire delegation of the State government, saying that the State pilgrims presented themselves as true ambassadors of Lagos State during the pilgrimage.
George Princewill, who gave the commendation during the visit of the State Pilgrims to the Vatican City in Rome, said that pilgrims from Lagos State displayed high level of decorum which according to him portrayed the pilgrims as genuine Christians on a journey of spiritual reawakening.
Earlier, during the ‘Papal audience with the Pope’, the State pilgrims seized the opportunity of the church service held within the vicinity of Saint Peter’s Basilica to collectively pray for the continued prosperity of the State and the divine guidance for the present administration in Lagos State.
The leader of the State pilgrims on this year’s pilgrimage exercise and Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Home Affairs, Mr. Adeola Hundeyin, had earlier advised the pilgrims to use the opportunity of the pilgrimage to showcase excellent behaviour, which is the hallmark of Lagos State.
In addition, the pilgrims commended the State Pilgrims Board for a well-packaged programme and the overall welfare of the Lagos State delegation compared to that of other participants on the pilgrimage.
