LSUBEB HANDS OVER EDUCATION FACILITY TO PARENT MINISTRY
In its bid to enhance qualitative education in the State, the Lagos Universal Basic Education Board led by its Executive Chairman, Dr Ganiyu Oluremi Sopeyin on Tuesday handed over an educational facility located at Agunfoye, Igbogbo in the Ikorodu to the State Ministry of Education.
Speaking at the handing over ceremony, Dr. Sopeyin said the facility was handed over to the Lagos State Universal Basic Education Board in 2016 by the Universal Basic Education Commission but is being returned to support the provision of qualitative and quantitative education in the State in line with the present administration’s policy.
Reacting to the development, the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Education, Mr. Adeshina Odeyemi assured that his Ministry would swiftly ensure that the facility is available for use as Model College by the next academic session.
He thanked the Executive Chairman of the Board for his foresight and thoughtfulness, adding that government would continue to provide qualitative and quantitative education in the State.
In her remarks, the Sole Administrator of Agunfoye, Mrs Bolanle Bashorun thanked the State government for the kind gesture of making the facility functional, adding that the move would further enhance the development of education in the State.
