LAGOS LG POLLS: LASIEC REDESIGNS WEBSITE
The Lagos State Independent Electoral Commission (LASIEC) has redesigned its website as part of the efforts to facilitate seamless access to relevant information on the forthcoming elections into the 57 Local Governments/ Local Council Development Areas of the State scheduled for Saturday, 22nd July, 2017.
The newly redesigned website – www.lasiec.gov.ng will provide comprehensive information about the operations and activities of the Commission and also serve as a platform for receiving feedback from stakeholders and the general public on issues pertaining to the election.
Speaking during a brief ceremony to launch the redesigned website, the Chairman of the Commission, Hon. Justice Ayotunde Philips, stated that the website now has a clean uncluttered design, improved functionality and enhanced content on the Commission’s vision to be recognised for excellence in electoral administration and sustenance of democracy.
She expressed satisfaction that members of the public could now obtain relevant information from the website about the activities and programmes of the Commission, particularly the forthcoming elections into Local Governments and Local Government Council Development Areas of the State.
Hon. Justice Phillips, therefore, enjoined members of the public and stakeholders to regularly visit the website for updates on programmes and activities of the Commission.
The Chairman said, “As the newly redesigned website of the Commission goes live today, I urge members of the public to take advantage of this technological innovation and demonstrate more interest and commitment to the electoral process at the Local Government level of Lagos State”.
With the redesigned website, it is expected that communication between the Commission and the public would be greatly boosted.
