LAGOS COMMISSIONER CALLS FOR BETTER UNDERSTANDING OF ROLES FOR EFFICIENT SERVICE DELIVERY

The Lagos State Commissioner for Finance, Mr. Akinyemi Ashade has stated that the task of providing world class financial services to stakeholders in Lagos and beyond, require a deeper understanding of responsibilities expected of every Directorate and Units in the State Treasury Office (STO), and other Government Ministries.

Ashade, who stated this while declaring open a 3-Day Retreat organised for staff of the STO with the theme: “Role Playing and Professionalism in Service Delivery”, exemplified that an effective workflow is like a pie that becomes incomplete once a portion is off.

He explained that the participants would achieve more by taking time to understand the workings and challenges in other directorates for the team to work and deliver together, adding that at the end of the retreat, staff would have a better understanding of workflow, efficient work processes and most importantly, be a happy and united team.

In her remarks, the Permanent Secretary, State Treasury Office and Accountant General of the State, Mrs. Abimbola Umar said the focus of the maiden retreat was part of measures to improve service delivery.

While commending the Governor Akinwunmi Ambode for approving the Retreat in order to optimise service delivery and enhance personnel development, she stressed the need for every participant to discharge their official duties with a view to uphold the core values of the Office which are Professionalism, Team Spirit, Accountability, Integrity, Discipline and Honesty.
