LASG CONSTRUCTS BRIDGES TO CONNECT FOUR RIVERINE COMMUNITIES
Lagos State Governor, Mr. Akinwunmi Ambode has approved and awarded contracts for the construction of three pedestrian bridges to link four riverine communities in Ojo Local Government area of the State.
The Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Works and Infrastructure Engr. Temidayo Erinle, made the disclosure during a project stakeholders meeting held at Itogbesa.
Represented by the Director, Project Planning and Design in the Ministry Engr. Rotimi Thomas , Erinle said the essence of the bridges, which will be fully illuminated, is to create a linkage among the four Communities of Irewe, Itogbesa, Okonudun and Erekun for easy movement especially of children who have to cross rivers before getting to their schools.
He said that the contractor had been mobilized to ensure a speedy job and prompt delivery of the project to the communities.
“The contractors handling the Projects have also been encouraged to consider employing capable youths in the host communities within the project areas, ‘’ he added.
Welcoming the State entourage, the Sole Administrator of the Local Government, Mr. Sanni Wasiu on behalf of the Local Government thanked the State Government for the kind gesture and pledged unflinching support of people of the Local Government to the current administration in the State.
A youth Leader in the area, Isa Padonu, also gave assurance that the residents would support and cooperate with the Contractors.
