OVER 10,000 PUPILS SEEK ADMISSION INTO LAGOS STATE MODEL COLLEGES

 

No fewer than 10,592 students registered for the year 2017 Screening Test into the State model colleges with 79 candidates opting for Computer Based Testing and 10,513 for Paper Pencil Testing version at the 39 designated Centres across the State.

The Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Education, Mr. Adeshina Odeyemi who disclosed this to newsmen while monitoring the centres said he was impressed by the turnout of pupils and parents, noting that the investment of the current administration in the Education sector is yielding the desired results.

Adeshina stated that the request for admission into government public secondary schools has been on the increase due to improved standards and gave assurance that admission would be based purely on merit.

He noted that there are 679 Public Secondary Schools in Lagos State, thereby making room for any candidate who failed the Screening Test to also sit for the Placement Test for Primary Six Pupils transiting to Lagos State Public Secondary Schools scheduled for July 2017.

In his remarks, the Director of the Lagos State Examinations Board, Mr. Hassan Oluwafemi expressed satisfaction over the conduct of the examination across the centres.
