LAGOS MUSLIM BOARD GIVES CERTIFICATES TO Y2017 PILGRIMS
The Lagos State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board has concluded arrangements to present Certificates of Participation to Al-Hujaj of Y2017 Hajj Exercise on Friday, 20th October, 2017 at the Old Secretariat Central Mosque, GRA, Ikeja.
The Executive Secretary of the Lagos State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board, Mr. Muftau Okoya disclosed on Tuesday that the presentation of Certificates signifies the successful participation of pilgrims in the Y2017 Hajj Exercise.
He maintained that the State Government is fully committed to the welfare and security of the people and is willing to recognize excellent performance and good conduct as demonstrated by the Al-Hujaj during the last hajj exercise.
Okoya explained further that special prayers have been arranged to take place after the Jumat Service, and called on the 2,332 Al-Hujaj who took part in the exercise to be present in order to enjoy the immeasurable benefits of the special occasion.
Similarly, the Executive Secretary also disclosed that the sale of hajj forms will begin on Wednesday, 8thNovember, 2017 at the Board office on 22/23 Oba Akinjobi Way, GRA, Ikeja.
According to him, interested pilgrims are to collect a teller from the accounting office of the Board for payment of N10,000 into the coffers of the Lagos State Government through any of the recommended banks to acquire their forms.
In respect of the hajj fare, Mr. Okoya said intending pilgrims are required to pay an initial deposit of N1,350,000 by bank draft issued in the name of “LAGOS STATE MUSLIM PILGRIMS WELFARE BOARD”, adding that a minimum payment of N100,000 could be made by instalments.
He advised interested / intending pilgrims to pay on time to forestall the logistic challenges that were experienced during last operation, pointing out that the policy of first come, first served is always observed in the allocation of pilgrims to local governments of convenience and in the allocation of hotels, tents and other facilities by National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON).
