LASG TO PARTNER AIM GROUP ON COMMUNITY RADIO
Lagos State Government has called for collaboration with AIM Group Limited, Owners of Cool FM, WAZOBIA FM, NIGERIA INFO and WAZOBIA MAX in the area of Community Radio.
The State Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Mr. Kehinde Bamigbetan called for the collaboration in Lagos during a courtesy visit on the management of the broadcast arm of AIM Group, noting that the partnership became imperative due to the vital role of radio as an avenue for grassroots participation in community broadcasting.
The Commissioner stressed the need for collaborative efforts particularly in the areas of mentoring as well as leveraging in the wide reach of all the radio and television platforms of the organisation in order to disseminate and propagate government policies and programmes.
In his words, “We are here on a courtesy visit to the AIM Group Limited, owners of WAZOBIA FM, COOL FM and WAZOBIA MAX to learn one or two things and to know how the Lagos Business Environment has been able to produce a very thriving and successful media platform”.
“I must confess, I am really impressed with what I have seen here today,” Bamigbetan averred.
While lauding the management of AIM Group Limited for the success story of their media platform, the Commissioner noted that one or two things would be replicated in some of the State-owned Media Platforms with a view to achieving similar story.
“There is the need to take home some of the strategies of the AIM Group Limited in order to reposition some of our media platforms for efficient and effective dissemination of government programmes and policies”, he stated.
