LSPWC PROMISES CONTINOUS MAINTENANCE, REHABILITATION OF ROADS, DRAINAGES IN LAGOS

The Lagos State Public Works Corporation (LSPWC), the arm of government saddled with the responsibility of maintaining and rehabilitating roads as well as drainages in Lagos Statehas reaffirmed the State Government’s commitment to the continuous maintenance and rehabilitation of roads and drainages across the State.

A press statement issued by the Corporation’s Head of Public Affairs Unit, Mr. Abayomi Oladapo, said information on the state of roads received from the Lagos public is used as a reference for the continuous road maintenance exercise being embarked upon by the Corporation.

He said these correspondence are collated and forwarded to the team of engineers who are spread across the five divisions of the State for necessary action, noting that some major activities such as base work (Scarification and Cart away), fixing of paving stones, grading of roads, patching with asphalt premix, regulation with crushed stones and boulders, fixing of drainage slabs, desilting/cart away have been carried out and completed on more than 320 major roads since the beginning of the year.

He disclosed that maintenance and rehabilitation works are ongoing on Ishaga-Mabo Road, Surulere, Ikorodu Road (Ojota-Jibowu both sides), the Interchange between Ifako/Gbagada/Shogbamu Roads in Kosofe, Oba Sekumade Road in Ikorodu, Mushin Road, Isolo Road, Iwaya Road in Yaba and Old Secretariat Road, Ikeja, amongst others.

The statement thanked residents of the State for providing the Corporation with relevant information that has facilitated prompt repairs of many roads and assured of government’s resolve to fix all bad roads prior to the commencement of the rainy season.
