LAGOS CONSUMER PROTECTION AGENCY EMBARKS ON PUBLIC ENLIGHTENMENT
The Lagos State Consumer Protection Agency (LASCOPA) has embarked on a public enlightenment campaign within the Ikeja – Oshodi axis of the State as part of efforts to educate and enlighten Lagosians on their rights as consumers.
Speaking during the campaign, the General Manager of LASCOPA, Mrs. Kemi Olugbode, called on Lagosians to always insist on quality goods and services in all their transactions just as she advised service providers and manufacturers to adhere to quality standards for their goods and services.
Olugbode also urged anyone who feels his or her rights have been compromised to approach the Agency and report such breach, assuring that the Agency was prepared to investigate the grievance of any dissatisfied consumer and take necessary actions against any party that acts in violation of the law.
According to her, “Consumers have Rights which should be enforced. The task of the Agency could be made easier if the masses do not keep silent or accept substandard goods and services as a norm”.
She informed that aggrieved consumers can lodge their complaints personally at the LASCOPA office situated at No. 2b, Soji Adepegba Close, off Allen Avenue, Ikeja Lagos or write a petition and forward it to the Agency’s e-mail: lascopa@lagosweb.com.ng where LASCOPA officers are on standby to address the issue and ensure their rights are protected.
