“BE READY FOR FRESH CHALLENGES” – LASG tells employees

The Lagos State Government has implored all staffers eligible for the 2018 promotion exercise to imbibe the knowledge acquired from the structured training programme designed to get them ready for fresh challenges in the next phase of their careers after elevation to a higher grade.

Speaking to newsmen at the One-Day training on Lagos State Development Plan for candidates on Grade Levels 13-16 at Alausa, Ikeja, the Permanent Secretary, Civil Service Commission, Mr. Adeyemi Taofeek Fashola said the structural training is aimed at updating the knowledge of the participants and adequately prepare them towards dealing with policy formulation and implementation.

He noted that the training is specifically for the senior officers as an addition to the general training received by all candidates for promotion, considering that the selected grade level officers belong to the management cadre in the State Civil Service.

While expressing optimism at the training, the Permanent Secretary urged the candidates to be attentive during the training offered by the consulting facilitators who were carefully chosen to impart management skills and knowledge.

“Even as the government begins to aim higher, to get better on all fronts, the civil servants are always key in this drive, that is the reason the Governor has approved that civil servants moving from one level to the other should be prepared for the fresh challenges ahead of them”, he said.

The participants were exposed to details of the four pillars of the Lagos State Development Plan 2015 – 2025 and its impact on programmes being executed by the government.
