ADEBULE, OTHERS LAUD ROTINWA’S CONTRIBUTION TO LG ADMINISTRATION

The Lagos State Deputy Governor, Dr. (Mrs.) Idiat Adebule has lauded the contribution of the Chairman, Lagos State Local Government Service Commission, Alhaji Babatunde Rotinwa to the State and Local government administrations, saying that his ingenuity in governance and wealth of experience remain a source of inspiration to all administrators across the State.

Speaking at a formal public presentation of a book written by Rotinwa titled Memorabilia, “A Life of Grace” held at Bishop Abiodun Adetiloye Hall, Oba Akinjobi Way, Ikeja, the Deputy Governor, represented at the event by the Permanent Secretary in the Office, Mrs. Yetunde Odejayi, disclosed that the book would serve as a guide to present and upcoming public administrators.

According to her, Rotinwa, a former Head of Service in the State remains an insightful public authority whose principles and ideas inspired the developmental strides being witnessed at the State and local government levels in recent times.

She said, “The Chairman is a dignified personality, whose effort has continued to have a reference in public administration and propel transformation in the State and across the various local government areas”.

Also speaking at the presentation, the Permanent Secretary of Ministry of Establishment, Training, and Pensions, Mrs. Rhoda Ayinde, representing the wife of the State Governor, Mrs. Bolanle Ambode commended the achievements of the astute public administrator in local government management, describing him as an administrative reformer.

The First Lady stated that Rotinwa’s life is a chronicle of an ideal public administrator whose accomplishment is emboldened in the Lagos State Public Service.
“The life of this accomplished administrator has, no doubt, inspired many public administrators because he is a custodian of human and resources management”, she added
While eulogizing the Chairman, Mrs. Ambode declared that the book would immensely contribute to local government management and that his experience would be useful in policy formulation and management in the public service.

In her remarks, the Head of Service, Mrs. Folashade Adesoye affirmed that the Chairman is a bridge builder whose exemplary commitment to duties has inspired others to contribute more to the society, stressing that the Chairman’s administrative journey has influenced numerous lives.

She said being a former Permanent Secretary, former Head of Service and now Chairman of Local Government Service Commission is a pointer to his enviable career in public service.

Adesoye implored local government officials to develop a harmonious relationship and imbibe the right attitude to duties in order to elevate the essence of the institution in the society.
“The structure of local government is one that is fastened to many bureaus for its functionality and as such conflict is bound to arise; it is, therefore, logical to transform such conflict to opportunity for the growth of the system”, she reiterated.

Dignitaries present at the occasion include Commissioners, Permanent Secretaries, top government officials and Whitecap Chiefs.
