LASG SEEKS RESIDENTS’ SUPPORT TO IMPROVE SANITY ON ROADS
… As NAN Commends LASG Infrastructural Renewal Programme.
The Lagos State Government has urged residents of the State to contribute towards improving sanity on roads across the State, saying there is a need for all road users to evolve attitudinal change to support government efforts while on the roads.
The State Commissioner for Transportation, Mr. Ladi Lawanson made the call while responding to enquiries from journalists on the need to curb unwholesome attitude of motorists and other road users in the State.
He explained that the State government has invested heavily to improve road infrastructure deficit in a bid to ensure smooth traffic flow, safety and security of lives and property on the road.
Lawanson disclosed that it has become imperative for commuters and the general public to complement government’s gesture by supporting its policies on road regulations in order to curb the excesses of motorists, Okada riders and other road users.
He, therefore, urged Lagosians to take ownership of all infrastructural development projects in their domain and be ready to resist any unlawful activity and dangerous driving by reporting infringements to appropriate law enforcement agents, adding that the State Ministry of Transportation will continue to partner stakeholders on the need to obey the traffic rules and regulations
Meanwhile, the Lagos Zone General Manager of the News Agency of Nigeria, NAN, Mr. Ibrahim Mamanga has commended the Governor Akinwumi Ambode administration for its multi-dimensional approach at tackling the Infrastructure deficit across the State.
He gave the commendation while welcoming the Lagos State Commissioner for Transportation, Mr. Ladi Lawanson during a courtesy visit to NAN’s Lagos Zone Headquarters at Iganmu, Lagos, saying the recognition took cognisance of the State government’s people-oriented and life-changing policies as well as the Infrastructural Renewal Programme designed to impact the lives of residents positively.
