LAST BATCH OF LAGOS PILGRIMS DEPART MAKKAH

The last batch of Lagos pilgrims departed Makkah for Nigeria yesterday at 10 a.m. Saudi Arabia time (8 a.m. Nigeria time) onboard Medview Airline, Boeing 777 Airbus with some of their counterparts from Ondo and Ekiti.

The Secretary, Lagos State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board, Mr. Abdul Rahman Ishola disclosed to newsmen that the aeroplane will arrive Lagos en route Ilorin International Airport to discharge Ondo and Ekiti State pilgrims.

While imploring the pilgrims to ensure that they put into good use all the moral and spiritual gains of the hajj exercise when they eventually get back to their respective homes, Ishola thanked the Almighty Allah for making 2018 Hajj a successful operation.

The pilgrims are expected to arrive at the Hajj Camp, Murtala Muhammed International Airport today.

In her remarks, Alhaja Basirat Oshoala, who spoke on behalf of other pilgrims, expressed her profound gratitude to Lagos State government for the moral, spiritual and financial support enjoyed in terms of all arrangements and provisions made available for the State pilgrims during the just concluded hajj exercise.

In a related development, the Lagos State Management team has commended the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) has been commended for returning a missing bag containing the sum of $400 among other valuable items.

The bag, which belonged to a Lagos pilgrim, was found by a bus driver and has since been returned to the owner who expressed joy over the recovery of his property and thanked NAHCON for the kind gesture.
