LSUBEB DISBURSES OVER N178M TO BENEFICIARIES OF DECEASED STAFF
…. Promotes 3,273 Pry Schools Teachers
Lagos State Universal Basic Education Board on Friday presented cheques amounting to N178.4 Million to 57 beneficiaries of deceased staff as insurance payments and benefits.
Speaking during the presentation ceremony at the LSUBEB Multipurpose Hall, Maryland, the Executive Chairman of the Board, Dr. Ganiyu Oluremi Sopeyin stated that the money accrued from the insurance package of the State Government for Teaching and Non-Teaching Staff of the Board.
According to him, the present administration has been faithful in the implementation of the payment of the insurance package of its staff because of the passion the State Government has for its workforce.
He urged beneficiaries to expend the money collected from government judiciously in the interest of the deceased persons bearing in mind that everyone would answer the same call.
Meanwhile, Dr Sopeyin also announced the promotion of 3, 273 Primary School Teachers, saying that for the first time in the history of the State Primary Schools, teachers were being promoted from level 16 to 17 in fulfilment of Governor Akinwunmi Ambode’s promise to upgrade them.
He explained that 3, 376 candidates were presented for the promotion exercise and that 3,273 were successful while 103 candidates were unsuccessful in the examination.
While urging all primary school teachers in the State to improve their productivity, Sopeyin thanked Governor Akinwunmi Ambode for his efforts to reposition the State Basic Education, adding that his support has impacted positively on the development of Education in the State.
