‘ONE LAGOS FIESTA’ EXCITES LAGOS ASSEMBLY COMMITTEE
The Chairman, Lagos State House of Assembly Committee on Tourism, Arts and Culture, Mr. Noheem Babatunde Adams has expressed his excitement and anticipation towards the annual end of the year programme ‘One Lagos Fiesta’ of the State Government, organised by the Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture, saying the impact of the event isfar-reaching among residents of the State.
Adams, who led the Committee members on an official visit to the Ministry today, said the State House of Assembly is proud to be associated with success and achievements of the fiesta over the years, noting that it is an activity that excites both Lagos residents and visitors alike on a yearly basis.
The Chairman, representing Eti Osa constituency I at the State House of Assembly also remarked that the success of the Ministry in promoting Lagos as a foremost tourism destination is also an achievement of the House Committee, the event being one of its functions and legislative deliverables.
He maintained that the impact of the event in reducing crime in Lagos during the yuletide period cannot be over-emphasised, saying ithas further placed Lagos State as a trailblazerin creating a people-centred programme.
The Permanent Secretary in the Ministry, Mr. Fola Adeyemi, who received the Committee members on behalf of the Management expressed appreciation to the Committee for its support towards the achievement recorded by the Ministry over the years.
The Committee’s visit is in line with its oversight functions which involves periodic interaction with the Ministry on project and programme execution in the areas pertaining to tourism, arts and culture.
Other Honourable members of the Committee at the meeting include Mr. Fatai Oluwa, Ajeromi Ifelodun, constituency 2; Mr. Nurudeen Saka-Solaja, Ikorodu constituency 2 as well as legislative aides and officers.
