LAGOS HoS VISITS CIVIL SERVICE COMMISSION
Lagos State Head of Service, Mr. Hakeem Muri-Okunola has solicited the support and cooperation of employees of the State government in his quest to make staff welfare paramount during his tenure in office.
Muri-Okunola was speaking during an official visit to the Civil Service Commission to rub minds with the management team of the Commission.
While welcoming the HoS, the Permanent Secretary, Civil Service Commission, Mr. Adeyemi Taofik Fashola outlined the functions of the Commission saying, “in addition to the recruitment, promotion, discipline and career management functions, the Commission also acts as an appellate body for civil servants”.
Fashola said that since the Commission derives its authority from the Constitution, it is compelled to adhere to procedures as prescribed in the statute books regulating its activities.
Also speaking at the event, Chairman Lagos State Civil Service Commission, Mrs. Adeyinka Taiwo Oyemade expressed optimism that the civil service will witness new innovations during the tenure of Mr. Muri-Okunola, due to the youthfulness.
She pledged the support and commitment of the Management and Staff of the Commission towards enhancing the quality of the State government’s workforce.
Responding, Mr. Okunola said, “I am elated and humbled by the warm reception accorded me by this highly revered Commission.”
