LAGOS TRAFFIC RADIO SEEKS SUPPORT OF LASEMA
As part of efforts to expand its scope in reporting traffic-related events, Lagos Traffic Radio has solicited the support of the State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA).
The General Manager, Lagos Traffic Radio, Mr. Eyitayo Akanle, made the request in his speech during a courtesy visit to LASEMA Office in Oshodi, saying that the aim of the visit was to further strengthen the existing relationship between the two agencies.
He maintained that the daily updates from LASEMA have been very helpful to Lagosians as well as the station to broaden its reach, stressing that Traffic Radio has undergone some changes in the last few months such as re-energising its social media platform among others.
Akanle declared that the management and staff of the station would appreciate LASEMA’s continued support in improving its services, especially by educating Lagosians on safety issues and how to respond in emergency situations.
In response, the General Manager, Lagos State Emergency Management Agency, Mr. Adesina Tiamiyu, gave assurance to improve the relationship between both Agencies, noting that Lagos Traffic Radio has always been a dependable ally in providing important updates on emergency management by LASEMA to its listeners and helping to also inform the Public on the activities of the Agency.
Tiamiyu revealed that in the last four years the Agency witnessed a service turn around with the acquisition of heavy duty machines to manage all forms of disasters in the State.
