LAGOS CONCLUDES STRUCTURED TRAINING EXERCISE

The Lagos State Civil Service Commission has concluded its six-day Structured Training programme for civil servants, just as it announced dates fixed for the commencement of oral interview for officers eligible for 2019 promotion exercise.

The Chairman of the Civil Service Commission, Mrs. Taiwo Oyemade during her inspection visit to the training centres alongside other Commissioners of the Civil Service Commission and the Permanent Secretary, Mr. Adeyemi Fashola commended civil servants for their orderly conduct and comportment during the exercise.

Mrs. Oyemade, who was represented by the Commissioner representing Badagry division at the Civil Service Commission, Pastor Israel Alagbe informed that the CSC did not experience any hitches during the exercise but would improve in subsequent editions.

Also speaking on the ongoing exercise, the Permanent Secretary of the Civil Service Commission, Mr. Adeyemi Fashola, disclosed that the second part of the promotion exercise, being the oral interview, has been scheduled to hold simultaneously from April 10th to 30th across all the Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs) of the State Government.

While soliciting the cooperation of all Accounting Officers of the MDAs as well as Directors of Administration and Human Resources for the success of the forthcoming exercise, he urged eligible officers to avail themselves with the information in the Annual Report and Handbook publications of the Commission.

“In furtherance to the above, MDAs are expected to include questions from the Civil Service Commission Annual Report and Employee Hand Book during the oral interview; hence candidates should acquaint themselves with the two documents”, Fashola emphasised.

Recall that the Structured Training which is premised on cadre knowledge, skills and attitude, knowledge acquisition and mandatory career progression for government workers replaced the written examinations by officers eligible for promotion under the administration of Governor Akinwunmi Ambode.
