TWO PARTIES TO PARTICIPATE IN SURULERE COUNCILLORSHIP BY-ELECTION
Two political parties have indicated interest to participate in the by-election to fill the vacant Councillorship seat of Ward A (Obele/Oniwala) in Surulere Local Government, Lagos State.
The two political parties, the All Progressives Congress (APC) and the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), have Mr. Kazeem Bello and Mr. Abdulateef Bolaji Sanni respectively as candidates vying for the vacant seat.
The councillorship by-election, which will be conducted in the 14 polling units in the affected Ward by the Lagos State Independent Electoral Commission (LASIEC), has 11,095 eligible registered voters who are expected to vote for the candidate of their choice during the election.
Meanwhile, the training of the individuals to be engaged for the conduct of the by-election will take place this week and the majority of personnel will be drawn from the pool of the in-house staff of the Commission due to the relatively small number required to conduct the election.
The by-election into Ward A (Obele/Oniwala) in Surulere Local Government scheduled for Saturday, 27th April 2019, is necessitated by the death of the Councillor representing the Ward, Mr. Razak Bello.
